I just wanted to take a minute to say thank you to all of our amazing consignors who have brought in their wonderful items over the past year and to bring attention and focus to some changes that we are making in the shop for the new year.
Here at Funkie Junkies, we strive to make our store a neat, clean, contemporary and fun shopping destination for Punta Gorda. This being said, we are implementing a few rules for what is and is not considered to be consignment quality inventory. I'd like to take a minute now to give our consignors and customers a brief outline of these rules, so that you can have a better idea of what we look for when it comes to accepting or not accepting your items:
We would like the focus of our shop to be on contemporary, current style decor, clothing and accessories. We do take in very select vintage items, but they need to be in excellent condition and relevant to current style. Items that are damaged in any way (rips, holes, stains, discoloration, etc) will not be accepted for consignment. This applies to everything - home decor, kitchen items, jewelry, furniture, clothing, shoes, and artwork.
Furniture, with the exception of very select antiques, should be 2 years old or less and in good to like-new condition. Clothing needs to be name brand and current style, shoes should be the same and in like-new condition.
Small kitchen appliances should be clean and in working condition, less than 5 years old.
Artwork does not necessarily need to be framed, but it does need to be able to hang on a wall. It should also have no damage or discoloration.
ANYTHING that smells of cigarette smoke will not be accepted.
We do not sell men's clothing, children's clothing, children's toys/other items, sports/exercise equipment, vhs tapes, audio tapes (we do sell cd's and dvd's) electronics, tools, or large appliances.
We have implemented a 25 item per day per consignor limit, in order to be able to get everyone's merchandise out in a fair amount of time. We accept consignment drop-offs from 9am to 2pm Monday through Saturday, however, we may sometimes ask for your understanding if we have had a lot of people early in the day and need to stop taking things in a little early.
